Remember a few weeks back I talked about the Bråkig limited edition collection from Ikea? Well if you missed it read all about it here. At the time I couldn’t give you an exact date on which the collection will be available. It turns out that individual Ikea’s stores in The Netherlands get to set their own date on which to roll out the collection. I seriously am NOT happy about this. There are stores that started sales on 24 January and there are stores that will not start sales of the Bråkig collection for a whole 5 to 6 weeks, including the store closest to me. While I do understand that location and demographics play a very important role in product placement I don’t see the point of this move considering the collection will be available at all Ikea branches throughout the country.
The lack of information from Ikea about the Bråkig collection is a bit confusing to me. There is no information on their website, in their newsletter or in their magazine. I contacted Ikea Netherlands the modern way, using their own Facebook page but got a standard not very informative reply the first time round. After I shared a friends picture with proof of sales of the Bråkig collection as early as 24 January all I heard back was… cue the crickets. Yes you guessed it nothing. I’m a very patient person so I gave it a bit of time but after 9 days of crickets I contacted Ikea Netherlands again on their Facebook page and finally got the information I was waiting for. I’m calling this a fail on how to connect with your fans on social media.
Okay mini rant over lets continue with our regular programming.
After I posted my original post on the Bråkig limited edition collection I got a message from the people at Artrebels with a link to a very fun behind the scenes video. Artrebels is a community of artists, designers, photographers, musicians, film makers, web designers, cultural activists and event makers organised in 4 distinct entities based in Denmark. The woman behind Rebel Academy, Trailerpark Festival, Rebel Agency and ArtRebels.com is founder and CEO Carla Cammillia Hjort.
Take a look at this behind the scenes footage for more on the road to the Bråkig collection
