Hi there friends,
Yesterday me and RJ spend a little time cleaning his toys. Well not all of them just the Lego’s. After looking around the web to find tips on how to clean kids toys I went for the ole’ bucket and soapy water for our first time try.
I was afraid to try the toys in the washing machine option to be honest. Don’t want to be shopping for a new washer dryer anytime soon. But some ladies on Instagram one of them being a dear friend of mine. Tried that option and have been doing so for a while.
Here is what I did.
I first cleaned every single piece of Lego in soapy water using a new brush. RJ spontaneously offered to help out. This part of the cleaning process is fun to do with the kids I think. After rinsing off the soapy water I soaked the Lego’s in a mild bleach solution for about 15 minutes to be sure to kill off any bacteria that was left. At this stage I would NOT have any children helping out though. It was a nice warm and sunny day. Perfect for air drying the Lego’s outside in the sun.
Just so you know the bucket and soapy water took for ever so I’m not keen on trying that again soon. So next year I will be braving it and looking for a big duvet cover to put the Lego’s in and tie it up really well. That was the trick I’ve been told. To secure the opening so no sneaky little plastic toys escape and go for a stroll in your washing machine.
I was on a roll so I cleaned the babies favourite stuffed toys as well. I used one of those laundry nets to put the toys in and washed them together with my regular load.
The weekend is knocking at the door. What are your plans? Any cleaning or reorganising going on in your house?
See you next time.
