Today I want to share the end results (for now) of our painting job using Flexa colour of the year Denim Drift. I choose to use it on one of our walls in the living room.
If you want to see how I came to choose this colour read this post. There I also share my mood board for the living/dining room revamp. If you want to know more about the Flexa trend collection for 2017 visit their site here. There are lots more details I want to add to this room later to make it feel cosier. The all white everything was ok for a bit. It allowed us the time to live in the space and see what it needed before going out and purchasing a bunch of stuff that would not have fit.
I really think that’s the way to go for any space you are thinking of tackling. Take the time to live with the space before you start your project. If you are already very familiar with the space, start with the basics such as floors and wall treatments. Consider what the function of the room will be before purchasing furniture and accessories. Next, decide on the big pieces for the space. For example the sofa and a dining room table. Are you going to buy new ones, update or reuse the ones you already have? I myself am not a fan of getting furniture sets. I don’t want my room to look like a standard showroom. Mixing and matching different furniture pieces and adding vintage pieces will lift up the room and make it more personal. Finally, you can focus your attention on the fun stuff, like adding accessories.
I’m very much in love with this wall colour. Now it’s time for more of the fun stuff. Hunting down some new (old) doors, replacing the tv stand situation and adding more accessories such as an area rug. O yeah, I have something great planned for another wall in the same room.
I’m curious, what are your thoughts on furniture sets? Do you like them or would you leave them? Let me know in the comments below.
