I have a DIY video for you today. How to turn boring white canvas gym shoes into something fun.
Turn a boring pair of white canvas sneakers into something special. I used the galaxy paint method to do these shoes but opted for another colour pallet. Please allow about 20 minutes drying time between coats.
What I used:
White canvas shoes
Sheer Blossom (pink)
Chalk Marker (for touch ups)
Make up sponge
Small container (for mixing water and paint for the first coat)
Start with a base coat of your darkest colour. For me it was the Medium Grey. I diluted the paint with some water for this first coat only. I wanted a Minny Mouse design on the front of the shoe. I cut out the shape on sticker paper and stuck it to the shoe and then painted the first coat on. Let the first coat dry for about 20 minutes.
I used my sponge to paint the Dove Grey in a camouflage pattern as a second coat. Let your second coat dry for 20 minutes. Now it’s time for the Pink. With my sponge I painted puffy clouds all over the shoe. Make sure to blend the edges very well to make them nice and soft. Think fluffy not blobs. After this coat has dried it was time for the Gold.
With a toothbrush flick the gold paint all over the shoe. You are aiming for a Galaxy effect with the gold. With a fine tip paintbrush paint simple stars and dots randomly as a finishing touch to your galaxy design. Let the gold paint dry for a bit and finish the Minny Mouse design with the golden bow.
You’re done! Till Next time,
