I haven’t done any crafting for a few weeks due to a lack of inspiration. Well that inspiration is back (thank goodness). I wanted to make something special for mothers day. After taking a look at my stash of goodies – yes I have a crafting supplies stash- I came up with this.
Last year I bought some nested gift boxes at Ikea. These where marked down and last of stock. So ofcourse I grabed a few. I used the first few of them for my christmas gift box post. If you are looking for gif wraping inspiration for your mothers day gif, than this is it.
These are the supplies I used:
- Nested boxes
- Washi tape (white with green dots)
- Scrapbook paper
- Foam brush
- Acrylic paints
- Felt roses (made myself)
- Little buterfly punch (not in picture)
I started off painting the bottom of my boxes and working my way up. I love using the Folk Art paints. They are easy to use and being acrylic dries really fast so perfect for crafting. Here is a picture of the painting in progress with two of my colours.
This is such an easy project. Just let your imagination do the work. After leaving the paint to dry completely I went to town on the lids. I wanted each box to be different.
Here are some close ups. Starting with my felt roses.
While I was working I thought why not try some butterflies. I used a small butterfly punch on my scrapbook papers and stuck them randomly on the top of the second box.
For the smallest box I used washi tape. My first project using this beautiful stuff.
Finish off with some ribbon and tadaaa beautifull boxes for your mothersday present.
When I finished this project I was thinking on how to style it all for my pictures. I decided to do a quick update on a little tray I bought to sell in my shop. I will be sharing this later on this week so keep an eye out for that.
Thank you for visiting and till next time.
