Let’s talk wall hangings (again). Remember the first time we talked about them here? I’m still not done with them. From yarn to macrame cord I’m here for all of it. Over the summer I tried my hand on a few yarn projects and even made my own loom. I must say it’s very addictive. Today I’m showing you a simple way to DIY a yarn wall hanging for your own space. If you love yarn, I bet you will love making this one too.
This is what you will need
- Metal hoop
- Yarn
- Scissors
- Latch rug canvas
- Embroidery needle
I found that metal hoop thing at our local Søstrene Grene. It’s a wall art piece. I took it apart because I didn’t like the way it was originally. I knew what could make it even better.
Start by cutting the canvas to the size that works best for your hoop. Attach the canvas to your hoop using yarn. You can work faster if you have your yarn cut to the desired size ready to go. Start from the bottom of the canvas and work your way up.
In the images below I show you have to hook the yarn to the canvas. Make it as full as you want to. It’s up to you.
After you’ve attached all your yarn it’s time to trim your piece in the shape that you want. I kept it a bit wild this time. Would you have a go and make a yarn wall hanging of your own?
